The basic idea of the WENZEL software architecture is that WENZEL software solutions are offered for all machines and applications that have the same operating concepts but cover specialized functional areas. The importance of software has also increased enormously in mechanical engineering in recent years. WENZEL recognized this many years ago and established its own development site for core software with the acquisition of Metromec AG in Switzerland: Today, around 50 employees work there and at other locations on WENZEL software solutions, which are installed at thousands of workstations. However, it is not only the importance, but above all the type and intensity of software use that is constantly changing. Depending on the choice of machine, WENZEL has the most suitable software solution for each machine in its portfolio. Meanwhile, the measuring tasks are also combined on different machines, e.g. when measuring gears or turbine blades on a classic CMM or when changing tactile probes and optical sensors. The WENZEL software architecture is designed for this multiple and redundant integration into different solutions. The various application solutions are built on the basis of a common HW abstraction layer:
The WENZEL SW family follows a similar concept to Microsoft. There are good reasons for the coexistence of word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail and presentation software. However, similar interface concepts make it easier to integrate and switch between the solutions. This is precisely WENZEL's claim! To offer the best possible solution for every application - from WENZEL - according to a proven, standardized concept.
