In order to shorten the measurement time for conventional measurement tasks with switching buttons, it was previously necessary to increase the speed of the CMM axes. With the PH20 “Head Touch” method, dynamic CMM errors are minimized at high measurement speeds.
The unique “head touch” method of the PH20 system enables measurement points to be detected by moving the measuring head and not the CMG structure. Points are recorded faster and with higher precision and improved repeatability. In addition, time-consuming head indexing is no longer necessary thanks to the 5-axis movement. Together, these speed increases typically result in a measurement throughput that is three times higher than conventional systems.
