Shaanxi Hangyu Non-ferrous Metal Processing Co., Ltd. is a supplier of precision parts for the aerospace and chemical industries. The precision products are mainly made of titanium and titanium alloys. Hangyu manufactures hydraulic valve bodies, for example. The accuracy requirements for size, shape and position tolerances are extremely high. Before WENZEL coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) were used, the measurements were carried out by an external service provider. However, quality managers were dissatisfied with time efficiency and process management.

In the second step, around 70 different measuring devices were purchased, but this led to major discrepancies. For example, there were too many different specifications for three-point internal micrometers and the measurement accuracies could not be easily guaranteed.
