Hyatech is a young high-tech company dedicated to the research, development, production and sale of critical parts of aerospace engines. The company mainly produces high-performance parts such as compressor blades, rotating and structural parts of aviation engines (integral discs, housings, turbine discs and compressor discs, rectifiers, rotor assemblies).
In order to ensure the quality of the heart of the aircraft, Hyatech faces a major challenge: The complicated structure of the products that Hyatech is involved in, such as the diffuser, requires a stable, efficient and precise measurement solution that is able to test complex geometries.
At Hyatech's request, WENZEL delivered the 5-axis high-speed measurement solution, a high-precision WENZEL coordinated measuring machine LH 1210 with the stepless REVO high-speed probe by Renishaw. This solution ensures highly accurate measurements to ensure that the dimensions and specifications of the parts are qualified and that preventive action can be taken as part of the quality assurance process.
The REVO high-speed probe requires a very precise mechanical design, and that is exactly one of the features of the WENZEL LH1210 coordinate measuring machine (CMG). The KMG is made of granite and guarantees the same thermodynamic properties in all axes. Due to its physical properties, granite is ideally suited for use in measurement technology. With air bearing guides integrated into the base plate and high-precision lapped guide surfaces, the system ensures excellent long-term stability.
The ergonomic design ensures safe and comfortable operation. The measurement range of the X, Y and Z axes is 1,200 mm, 2,000 mm and 1,000 mm with a maximum load weight of up to 2,300 kg. The length measurement uncertainty of just 2.0 μm (MPEE) ensures high precision. Zhang Leiyu, engineer at Hyatech, explains: “Stepless indexing testing allows us to test products with very complex geometries with high precision, which will be a new breakthrough for our future development. ”
“Since 2015, the WENZEL 5-axis high-speed solution has significantly improved our measurement efficiency and helped the company save testing time and costs.”
The WENZEL coordinate measuring machine is equipped with the 5-axis probe, which can handle a higher measurement throughput and provides more precise measurement results than 3-axis measurement systems. Without the need to calibrate the probe angle separately, the REVO can flexibly carry out the measurement in any vector direction. In addition to 100% measurement coverage, it can also detect very complex surfaces with excellent stability. “The WENZEL 5-axis high-speed solution is able to continuously scan the fracture, surface and root profile of the turbine blade, which significantly shortens the measurement cycle, and will thus bring about a new breakthrough for our future development. ”
