Founded in 1993, Jin Tong Ling Technology Group Co. Ltd. from China is a service-oriented company that integrates research and development and manufacturing of technology-intensive modern high-end devices.

The company offers compressors, blowers, steam turbines and various specifications of energy-saving liquid machines as main products. These are widely used in iron and steel smelting, thermal power generation, petrochemicals, shipbuilding, nuclear power and other fields. With the rapid growth of the Chinese market economy, these products have also been increasingly in demand on the international market in recent years.

With continuous technical progress, Jin Tong Ling has also continued to advance the quality management of its products. Before that, there were a number of challenges to overcome. For example, some large workpieces were measured using traditional or manual methods, which were not very efficient and sometimes led to inaccurate measurement parameters. In addition, some complex surface dimensions and shapes could not be detected using conventional measurement methods, which would inevitably affect the quality of the products.

Measurement speed & precision

For example, the company was looking for a durable, efficient and accurate measurement solution for optimal inspection of large components in particular. To take advantage of this opportunity, WENZEL offered a large coordinate measuring machine LH 2015 of the LH Gantry series in combination with REVO 5-axis measuring head by Renishaw. As a result, the scan speed of the coordinate measuring machine (CMM) could be increased enormously.

The LH Gantry 2015 was specifically designed for inspecting large-volume and heavy workpieces. The compact design with active pneumatic vibration damping and automatic temperature compensation allowed installation without a special foundation. The elevated guides in the Y-axis also ensure maximum stability, even during dynamic movements. The LH Gantry is therefore ideally suited for Jin Tong Ling applications that require both speed and maximum precision.

Wu Yafei, an engineer at Jin Tong Ling, describes his experience with the new WENZEL KMG in a consistently positive way: “Our company had no such large CNC measuring machines available so far, which made it impossible to measure large components in large quantities. However, the introduction of LH 2015 made it possible to significantly increase measurement throughput and thus adds to a weak point of previous quality testing. ”

Measurement efficiency

In contrast to conventional measurement methods, the LH Gantry 2015 with REVO is ideally equipped for powerful 5-axis measurement. With this measurement technology, the probe can achieve a measurement along a continuous path around the complex workpiece, so that the probe assembly can be replaced or the measuring seat can be positioned without leaving the measurement surface. Sampling due to the five-axis synchronous movement speeds up data collection and enables exceptional measurement flexibility. For example, the inner hole can be measured via a switching point, a circular scan or a helical scan. For surface and edge measurements, the measurement points can be quickly detected using “head touch” scanning, which improves accuracy and repeatability.

In the meantime, the stepless positioning function ensures that optimal features are measured, minimizes the number of probe changes and significantly improves measurement time. This measurement technology can not only save costs for the user, but also significantly improve measurement efficiency and achieve accurate measurement results.
