WENZEL concludes the first half of 2022 with significant growth in incoming orders and sales. The new products and applications are increasingly supporting the core business. Supply chain problems and a shortage of skilled workers remain the biggest challenges.

Following a strong recovery in 2021, the WENZEL Group was able to increase sales by more than 30% compared to the same period of the previous year in the first half of 2022; for new machines even by more than 40%. The basis for this was the significant increase in incoming orders in the second half of 2021, which gave production a significant boost. This also showed that the introduction of the 4-day week in production at WENZEL did not reduce productivity.

In 4 days, we are concentrating on doing the same thing and even more than before — and at the same time, all production employees have one more day off! “, says managing partner Dr. Heike Wenzel.

Full order books even in the 2nd half of the year

The above-average depth of added value at WENZEL currently helps ensure that the existing supply chain problems are not as serious as with other industry participants. “Unfortunately, the tight supply chains certainly mean longer delivery times at the moment, but we are proud that we can almost still deliver our customer-specific solutions within a period of 3 to 4 months,” says Dr. Heike Wenzel.

The order books were also well filled for the second half of the year. With further growth of more than 15% and almost 20% in new machines, growth will slow down somewhat in the second half of the year, but the level was significantly higher again in the second half of the year.

We were able to achieve strong growth in almost all target industries and product areas worldwide. In addition to our classic measurement systems for highly accurate Coordinate measurement technology, the solutions introduced in 2021 are now also increasingly contributing to Gear measurement technology and for Design model making as well as the development of numerous solutions in the area of Manufacturing metrology and computed tomography at. Involvement in WENZEL BRT in the Czech Republic and the new development and sales partnership with VisiConsult Lübeck will certainly also trigger a further growth spurt.
