WENZEL Metrology GmbH is pleased to be part of the innovative NeXamo project, which is supported as part of the funding measure “Digitalization of Vehicle Manufacturers and Supply Industry” by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK). The project aims to develop highly flexible and freely linked matrix production, which enables unprecedented flexibility in manufacturing.
The project was officially launched on February 13, 2024, when ZF invited all ten project partners from industry and science to Friedrichshafen for a kick-off meeting. A demonstrator line is to be set up here by 2026, which visualizes the concept of matrix manufacturing.
With a total budget of 16 million euros, financed by BMWK funding and investments from project partners, neXamo aims to fundamentally transform the production methods of vehicle manufacturers and suppliers. The aim is to implement economical and flexible matrix production that is particularly suitable for the production of small and medium-sized series and sets new standards in the industry.
WENZEL Group GmbH & Co. KG will contribute its expertise to optimize quality assurance and post-processing in the context of additive manufacturing. Together with partners Fraunhofer IAPT, ZF Group, Grenzebach Group, Nikon SLM Solutions, ERLAS Erlanger Lasertechnik GmbH, FEHRMANN Materials, VisiConsult - X-ray Systems & Solutions GmbH, Supfina and fir at RWTH Aachen University, work is being carried out to implement this pioneering production method.
By integrating advanced technologies, flexible logistics and agile planning, the NExamo project promises to significantly change the production of next-generation mobility products and to successfully master the challenges of modern vehicle production.
