WENZEL Metrology has delivered its 10,000th coordinate measuring machine (CMG) “Made in Germany” to ZF Group delivered. This marks another important milestone for our company and underlines the close partnership with ZF, a leading global technology group in powertrain and chassis technology as well as active and passive safety technology.
The delivered LH 1210 is the first machine of its size with the Premium-Select accuracy of 1.2 µm + L/450 µm. This makes it the most accurate coordinate measuring machine that WENZEL has ever produced in this size. This exceptional accuracy helps ZF to ensure maximum precision and quality even with the most demanding components.
Another highlight is the integrated new roughness sensors, which can be used both on the WENZEL LH series and on the GT series (gear measuring machines). This enables ZF to flexibly and precisely measure a wide variety of components, whether cubic or rotationally symmetrical. The standard built-in round table, which is perfectly integrated into the granite plate, further expands the range of applications of the machine and makes it a real multi-coordinate measurement system.
WENZEL has also developed the LH 1210 in such a way that it is already prepared for future sensors and technologies (“ready for the future of metrology sensors”). This means that ZF can invest in cutting-edge technologies over the long term without having to replace the hardware.
Another decisive factor for ZF was Compatibility of measurement programs. The programs of the GT series gear measuring machines can be easily used on the LH series and can be exchanged between various locations worldwide. This gives ZF maximum flexibility and enables optimal use of the machines in its global production networks.
ZF has also decided to provide both hardware and software (LH series, GT series, WM | Quartis measurement software) from a single source. This complete solution offers significant advantages in terms of efficiency, reliability and easy integration into existing production environments.
The ceremonial handover of the 10,000th coordinate measuring machine was carried out by our management, Dr. Heike Wenzel and Professor Dr. Heiko Wenzel-Schinzer, as well as the key account management team at Björn Urland and Thomas Pfeiffer in our final assembly. As a special recognition, we presented a trophy made of granite, which was produced by Reinhard Höfling, Divisional Supplier Development was accepted by ZF.
We would like to sincerely thank ZF for their trust in WENZEL and look forward to continuing to support the Group with tailor-made measurement technology solutions in the future. We wish ZF every success in using this high-precision system and are looking forward to the joint projects that lie ahead of us.
