The trip is part of the state visit by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who is visiting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Thailand from January 22 to 27, 2024.
With this trip, the Federal President underlines Germany's goal of deepening and diversifying political and economic relations with the Southeast Asian countries. Dr. Heike Wenzel will take part in talks with local companies, which will focus on the prospects of economic and trade relations.
Talks, state banquet and inspiring visits
After a flight from Berlin to Hanoi and a short stopover at the hotel, interesting talks took place with representatives of the embassy and political and economic actors in Vietnam. The highlight of the day was the state banquet with the Vietnamese President.
The visit to the German House and the Vietnamese German University (VGU) in Ho Chi Minh City offered numerous suggestions and made it possible to meet interesting personalities from business and politics. The delegation looks forward to further productive talks and looks forward to strengthening bilateral relations in the coming days.
Asian market of outstanding importance
The second stop of the delegation trip was to Thailand. The Land of Smiles welcomed the delegation warmly. The program included joint meetings with the Federal President and numerous small discussions with representatives from politics and business.
Asia is now extremely important for WENZEL as the second-largest market after Europe. Especially in Vietnam and Thailand, there are considerable opportunities for the further development of our activities. In recent years, many companies have established production facilities here, and we are looking forward to making a contribution to ensuring process and product quality with our measuring machines.
At the end of the trip, there was the opportunity to get to know the country better by visiting a pilot farm for sustainable agriculture, a raft trip to the floating photovoltaic plant and a short hike in the national park.
